Some of the hotel's patrons include actresses Ginger Rogers and Judy Garland, as well as singer Bing Crosby and former president Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Hammock Oaks can be found on the southern part of Coral Gables, just along Old Cutler Road. This puts the neighborhood close to places such as Downtown Coral Gables, as well as the communities of South Miami, Coconut Grove, and Pinecrest.
