Pinecrest – The Community
Although only incorporated in 1996, Pinecrest has long been a draw for those looking to get out of the hustle-and-bustle of Miami and move to a quieter area with easy accessibility to downtown Miami, Miami International Airport, and beyond. Pinecrest offers a more suburban feel than many of the close-in neighborhoods in Miami while still offering fabulous amenities along its US1 corridor including restaurants and shopping. Pinecrest is located north of SW 136th Street, South of 88th Street (Kendall Drive) and between US1 to the west and Red Road to the east.
One of the most recent additions / updates to the villages vast networks of parks is the addition of the new state of the art community center and the renovation of Parrot Jungle. The iconic and historic Parrot Jungle was taken over by the park and now houses a water park, children’s petting zoo, play area and trails where you can take a stroll or go turtle spotting. Parrot Jungle or Pinecrest Gardens as it is now known, is more beautiful than ever with awe inspiring tropical foliage and beautiful birds. Next door is the all new library and community center complete with outdoor playing fields, a workout facility and a teaching center where classes are offered to village residents.
Pinecrest has some of the best schools in the state both public and private. It is a wonderful community to raise a family in. Pinecrest is close to many amenities, well suite for families and features a suburban community layout.
